Publié clandestinement en 1903, ce journal d'une enfant vicieuse est incontestablement l'œuvre d'Hugues Rebell, l'auteur oublié mais jadis célèbre de La Nichina et des Nuits chaudes du Cap français. Voici un texte très rare. Je n'en connais pas d'autre édition que l'originale (réimprimée en 1909), sauf peut-être une édition de 1961. Le texte est en effet cette année-là condamné par la dix-septième chambre. Mais on ne sait pas (aucune description de l'ouvrage condamné !) s'il s'agit tout simplement d'exemplaires retrouvés des anciennes éditions. C'en est en tout cas la première édition depuis plus de quarante ans, et la première édition au format de poche. Les curieux et les quelques lecteurs actuels d'un auteur injustement oublié y retrouveront toutes les obsessions sexuelles - amplifiées par la clandestinité - de l'étrange personnage qu'était Hugues Rebell, de son vrai nom Georges Grassal, mort prématurément de ses débauches en 1905, à trente-cinq ans.
