Achterin o.a. een kaart van Europa in 1648. Best een belangrijk boek. 

Dit boek bevat een selectie gepubliceerde artikelen over zenboeddhisme, geschreven vanaf 1970 tot 2010. Zij zijn verschenen in tijdschriften (o.a. Zen en Speling) of in boeken waaraan meerdere auteurs een bijdrage leverden. Zij bestrijken een periode van veertig jaar spiritualiteit. Met publiceren is Tydeman begonnen toen hij werkzaam was als staflid van het toenmalige meditatiecentrum De Kosmos. Vanaf die tijd leerden verschillende leraren hem de zenweg: Kalfried Dürckheim, Thich Nhat Hanh en vooral Genpo Merzel Roshi. De essays zijn een weerslag van zijn ontwikkeling vanaf deze beginfase tot aan de tijd dat Tydeman zelf officieel leraar werd. Zij gaan over de belangrijke thema’s: de beoefening van zazen, de plaats van het zenboeddhisme in het publieke (Nederlandse) domein, zen en de dood, compassie, verlichting – en wat daarna?, over Dogen Zenji, de stichter van de soto-school. De betekenis van de christelijke mystiek blijkt uit een artikel over meister Eckhart. In deze verzamelbundel zijn ook enkele niet gepubliceerde artikelen opgenomen, o.a. over erotiek en verlichting en een bijdrage aan de interreligieuze dialoog. Dit laatste is de tekst van een lezing uitgesproken op een conferentie gehouden ter ere van Mimi Maréchal, tien jaar na haar overlijden.

Otto Kadoke werkt als psychiater in een crisiscentrum: zijn specialiteit is suicide-preventie, hij dient mensen met een doodswens voor het leven te behouden. Wanneer hij op een dag bij zijn oude en hulpbehoevende moeder op bezoek gaat, doet een van de Nepalese verzorgsters de deur open, gehuld in slechts een handdoek. De getuigenissen stellen de vraag wat literatuur vermag op scherp en gaan altijd ook over onze wereld en onze demonen.

This edition of the first book of Ovid's "Amores" was first published in 1973 by OUP. It has been kept in print by BCP because it remains an outstandlingly useful volume. It was one of two editions (the other being Gordon Williams' "Horace 'Odes' III", 1969) in which OUP pioneered a new kind of continuous running commentary particularly suited to short poems, one 'likely to be more illuminating than a series of disconnected notes on isolated problems, which may contribute little to the total understanding of the poem as the poet conceived it'. This approach was intended to promote in sixth-formers and undergraduates not just an understanding of the Latin but a critical appreciation of literary quality. In this aim, the edition has been a continued success.
