Memoires van de radio-dj Rob Stenders (geboren in 1965). In dit boek verhaalt hij over zijn carrière in de omroepwereld. Zoals iedereen dat van hem gewend is neemt hij hierbij geen blad voor de mond, en met de nodige zelfspot neemt hij ook zichzelf genadeloos onder de loep.

Brieven van de Nederlandse schrijver en activist (1915-1998) uit de 13 maanden dat hij gevangen zat vanwege betrokkenheid bij het Algerijnse verzet in de periode 1954-1962. Op 10 juli 1960 werd Sal Santen samen met Michel Raptis opgepakt, omdat hij betrokken was bij de oprichting van een verboden wapenfabriek in Marokko. Hij werkte ook mee aan het illegaal drukken van persoonsbewijzen en was medeplichtig aan de vervaardiging van valse Franse francs voor het Algerijnse Bevrijdingsfront. In afwachting van een proces bleef hij meer dan een jaar in voorarrest, wat aanleiding gaf tot hevige protesten in de pers en zelfs tot vragen in het Parlement. Uiteindelijk heeft Santen ruim vijftien maanden in de cel doorgebracht. Dapper zijn omdat het goed is bevat de brieven die Santen in die periode aan zijn vrouw schreef. Zij laten de persoonlijke kant van het verhaal zien. In een inleiding, die Santen ruim dertig jaar na dato aan zijn brieven toevoegde, kijkt hij nog eens terug op deze moeilijke periode, en gaat hij in op zijn beweegredenen en de politieke omstandigheden van destijds. Dit alles maakt Dapper zijn omdat het goed is tot een document van grote historische en menselijke waarde.

De Antwerpse auteur Willem Elsschot (1882-1960) is eigenlijk maar dertig jaar literair actief geweest. Vóór alles was hij de reclameman/'marketeer' Alfons De Ridder. Zijn zakelijke correspondentie, hoofdzakelijk in het Frans geschreven, overtreft dan ook in omvang vele malen zijn literaire brievenproductie. In 1993 bezorgde Vic van de Reijt samen met Lidewijde Paris de Brieven-editie, waarin vooral het schrijversleven aandacht kreeg. De afgelopen jaren kreeg hij toegang tot De Ridders zakelijk archief, dat wonderwel bewaard gebleven is in een vochtige Antwerpse kelder. De vele ontdekkingen die hij daarin deed vormen het hart van een Elsschot-biografie die voor het eerst recht doet aan de schrijver én de zakenman. En dan blijkt dat de zachtmoedige Frans Laarmans het in de praktijk vaak tegen mijnheer Boorman moest afleggen.
