Lucebert maakte in de periode rond 1950 voor vrienden een aantal unieke boekjes met gedichten, tekeningen en collages. Zeven boekjes die zijn ondergebracht in de collectie van het Stedelijk Museum en in privé-collecties, verschijnen in september van dit jaar in een facsimile-editie. Wat de boekjes extra bijzonder maakt is dat ze samen zevenentwintig nooit eerder gepubliceerde gedichten bevatten. Ter gelegenheid van Gedichtendag 2012 worden deze niet eerder gepubliceerde gedichten eenmalig samengebracht onder de titel "Zij heeft haar naam vergeten". Ze tonen de veelzijdigheid en openheid van Lucebert en zijn een onontbeerlijke aanvulling op zijn verzamelde gedichten.

Inleiding tot het werk van de Nederlandse dichter en beeldend kunstenaar 

Aan het begin van deze eeuw, toen ik nog een puisterige puber was, voelde ik een grote behoefte om in de literatuur de antwoorden op mijn levensvragen te vinden. Dat lukte niet. Hoewel ik het kunstenaarsleven leidde, inclusief een getormenteerde ziel en een geveinsde zucht naar drank, net als mijn literaire helden, duwden de meeste boeken me verder in de put. Tot ik het werk van Lévi Weemoedt ontdekte. De persoonlijke ellende spat van zijn poëzie, maar hij verpakt het in de liefde voor taal en ongebreidelde zelfspot, een combinatie die ik niet voor mogelijk hield. Als hij een mislukking beschreef, bood me dat troost, en moest ik ongemakkelijk lachen om mijn eigen pathetische overdrijvingen. Nog vaker deed hij me huiveren om zijn tekstuele spitsvondigheid en het superieure spel met woorden dat hij telkens speelt. De gedichten kwamen soms wat kort en eenvoudig op me over, maar er zijn maar weinig dichters die het autonoom na kunnen doen. Het gedicht 'Don Juan Lul' tors ik al ruim een decennium ingelijst met me mee naar de verschillende huizen die ik heb bewoond. Nu hangt het pontificaal in onze woonkamer. In al zijn eenvoud schetst het een beeld van iemand die ogenschijnlijk alles al heeft opgegeven. In werkelijkheid houdt de taal hem overeind. Iedereen moet Weemoedt lezen! Vandaar deze bloemlezing, die ik met veel plezier heb samengesteld.- Özcan Akyol.
