Paul M. Smith. Photographs

This comprehensive photobook publication presents a retrospective overview of the work of Paul M. Smith, a British photographer and pioneer in combining documentary photography with theatrical and digital manipulation. Smith challenges traditional notions of photography and realism by placing his own body and staged scenarios at the centre of his images, with themes ranging from war and masculinity to identity and performance. The photographs are carefully constructed and offer a critical and visually challenging perspective on the boundaries between truth and artificial construction in contemporary photography.
